Text Solution
Verified by ExpertsCHECK THE SOLUTION.
Sol. (i) MnO2 + 4HCl ⎯→ MnCl2 + 2H2O + Cl2
By doing electrolysis of NaCl solution
2KClO3 + I2 ⎯→ 2KIO3 + Cl2
CaOCl2 + H2SO4 ⎯→ CaSO4+ H2O+Cl2
CaCl2 + CO2 ⎯→ CaCO3 + Cl2
(ii) MnO2 + 4HBr ⎯→ MnBr2 + Br2 + 2H2O
Cl2 + 2HBr ⎯→ 2HCl + Br2
5NaBr + NaBrO3 + 6HCl ⎯→
6NaCl + 3Br2 + 3H2O
By heating KBr with MnO2 and conc. H2SO4 or by passing Cl2 throught KBr solution
(iii) 2KI + H2O2 ⎯→ 2KOH + I2
2NaIO3 + 5NaHSO3 ⎯→
3NaHSO4 + 2Na2SO4 + H2O + I2
2HI + Cl2 ⎯→ 2HCl + I2
